This Isn't a Diary. Diaries Are For Girls.

I don't necessarily want time to fly by super fast, but... I CAN'T WAIT UNTIL DECEMBER!!!! Why??? Mario Kart: Double Dash will be out around that time. It is the single reason why I bought my GameCube -- I LOVE Mario Kart. I'm not sure which is my favorite game -- Mario Kart or Halo. Man, that is a tough one. Oh, and if it is December, then Halo 2 is even closer to being released. And, if December, I will be in France with AnneJulie. Turn December already!!!

So I splurged and got a GameBoy Advanced SP today. I have a GameBoy Advanced with the AfterBurner, but after seeing the SP and becoming addicted to its kewl look and super nice backlit screen, I had to get one. I also got Baseball Advanced and Virtual Tennis for it. I looked on ign.com before going shopping, and those were the best baseball and tennis game. I was surprised to find them at Toys-R-Us for $10 each. This made me happy :). I also got the extended battery for it (18 hours with the backlight) and a little case. Yes, I don't use the GBA that much, but I use it when I travel, and since I am started to prepare for my France trip (it's not for a while, but still...), I figured the GBA SP was a good idea.

If you are not kewl enough to have a Mac & Safari and are using Internet Explorer on the PC, you HAVE to get the Google Toolbar 2.0. It has a pop-up blocker built into it! It's beta for now but is still awesome :)

Today was good. I didn't get much done work wise but I was able to recharge the batteries. It's amazing how fast time goes by. I wake up, work somewhat, then AnneJulie calls. I don't think I would have a problem being retired -- I somehow manage to kill the majority of the day with no effort. In this era of internet and instant messaging, it is rather easy to do nothing. And doing nothing is not as easy as it seems... just ask Jerry Seinfeld ;-).

The NBA draft was on last night so I watched the majority of that. The Lakers got Luke Walton and some other guy that I don't know about. The Lakers definitely went with size in the draft. I'm happy about Walton -- I always thought he was a good, unselfish player. I'm surprised he went in the second round -- it seems the first round is based more on potential. But then again, I am not a GM for a pro basketball team.

Oh, and I realized I should have been a pro basketball player instead of whatever I "do" all day. I could have been the one signing the $90 million Nike contract and then moving to, of all places, Cleveland!!! Ok, the Cleveland part isn't that appealing, but I could manage with the Nike 90 million part.

Random Thoughts for the Day:

Microsoft .NET 1.1 still annoys me. The most annoying issue that was not fixed in 1.1 is when I open up a form and then it just randomly decides to delete some of my user controls. I then have to spend about 20 minutes re-adding them.

And of course, the whole “I am not going to work properly when the code editor and design view for the same form is open at the same time” issue. If I wasn’t so lazy and if I did not like the few fixes in the 1.1 Framework, I would manually paste my latest changes into the Visual Studio 2002 project and say screw Visual Studio 2003.

I am praying (see, I pray for important things) that the Lakers land Juwan Howard and Gary Payton this off-season. Howard will probably happen, but I doubt Payton will. But that would be sweet. They could just give the Lakers the title now.

I really want a new G5 from Apple. They are slick looking machines. I am just trying to find a reason to get one. The G4 dual 500 that I have now doesn’t get much use except for: 1) doing this blog, 2) play my music (iTunes rocks), 3) works with my iPod, and 4) browse the internet (Safari rocks). And the annoying part is they aren’t out until September, so I can’t even make a spontaneous purchase since I would have plenty of time to cancel the order.

I’m hoping this blog will help relax me and be a good way to start the “winding down” process. We will see how it works. I don’t think ANYONE reads this anyways.

After a long layoff, I hope to start updating this page again. Maybe it will be a good release to some of my complaints. Or maybe I’ll forget about it by tomorrow. Either way, I’m back for now.

The first thing I did was clear out my old blogs. Out with the old, in with the new! Well, since there is no new, I guess it is just out with the old.

I will be posting more soon.
