Basically my Holy Grail...

The Slingbox was released today, and I quickly scrambled and found one at CompUSA. This product is truly amazing, and I consider it part of the Holy Grail for my "Digital Lifestyle". Simply, it allows me to watch either live TV or anything stored on my Tivo, from another location, streamed from the Internet. Why the big deal? Because this allows me to watch TV ANYWHERE where there is an internet connection -- such as FRANCE. This means I no longer am going to feel completely out of place, I'm not going to miss sporting events I previously did, etc. It's amazing how just even watching SportsCenter or ESPNEWS will help me feel better. Not to mention getting an occasional whiff of FoxNews and Bill O'Reilly :).

I should note that at this particular moment, the Slingbox isn't working, as apparently there are some issues with their servers handling the amount of requests... and when I called tech support, I got a "You called a day early, call us back tomorrow" message, which I found quite funny and didn't seem to mind. You can't rush greatness I suppose :)

And I guess I should mention VONAGE as the other half of the Holy Grail. This is going to allow me to make and receive calls, just as if I was in the US.

Now, if only I can find a 9 hour time gap solver, and establish capitalism overseas... :)

This would be GREAT

I don't agree with the Supreme Court's recent ruling to take away land from an individual, so this would be great! I'd stay there!

La Baule, France

AnneJulie is in La Baule right now, which is a little sea town in the west of France. I really like it there -- it's very relaxing and kick-back. Anyways, here are a few images of it from Google Earth (the new version of Keyhole).

Kenny Chesney Concert!

I got back from the Kenny Chesney concert not too long ago. What an AWESOME concert! Pat Green, who I never heard of before, opened. I'm going to go buy some of his CD's tomorrow, that's for sure. He's more rock than country I felt. Very good. Gretchen Wilson was REALLY GOOD. My friend Chip and myself were very impressed by her stage presence and overall performance.

Kenny himself was awesome -- big surprise... lol. He was on stage for just about 2 hours and performed a song with Sammy Hagar, Uncle Kracker came out and did "When The Sun Goes Down" with Kenny, and then they did a few other songs including the famous Kid Rock one. I'm super glad I went and I'm definitely getting tickets next time he's around, that's fo'sho.
