Pictures from Berlin !

Sophie and I are in Berlin for a bit as we visit her family, so I've managed to take out my new Canon EOS 40D and my tripod to take some photos of Berlin at night. Here are some of the photos so far.

Could "Euro Football" finally become popular in the States?

David Beckham is coming to the US to play for Major League soccer's LA Galaxy. Hopefully this is huge and sparks the soccer interest in the US. The World Cup helped, but I felt they needed something else. Hopefully Beckham and more coverage on ESPN will do it!

What a weekend !!! :)

I have been in Santa Maria since Tuesday -- figured it would be a nice change of pace. On Friday I went down to LA, visited my grandma, and then went over to Keith's place, which I hadn't seen before. I hung out with him on Fri night with Vivian and their new dog Dallas (who ROCKS!), and then more fun on Sat. But Saturday night Keith and I went to Fogo de Chao, which is pretty much the best restaurant in the history of food. I felt like a defeated man after I could eat no more. So sad.... :(

Sunday I went to my Aunt's and hung out with her, and then today, she got me on the SET OF 24!!!! I got to see CTU Headquarters -- it's just like TV! It's huge! And SOOOO COOL looking. Anyways, that pretty much made my week - as if it wasn't already totally awesome, but seeing exactly where they shoot my favorite show was QUITE an experience!!!

New York City!

Julio and I spent most of last week and weekend roaming around New York City - Manhattan in particular. NYC is AMAZING - it's HUGE. And quite expensive too...

Here are some pictures from the trip. I will probably re-upload all of these in a bit to include Yankee Stadium. I took over 5 gigs of RAW files, so it took a while to get this organized :).

Zidane - Why???

So I really wanted France to win the World Cup for various reasons (I really like France, and Italy pissed me off when they played the US), so, why Zidane, did you headbutt that guy? Por quoi????

Some Justification...

Funny how it seems nobody has really mentioned that they DID find chemical weapons in Iraq. Granted, it's not the huge stockpile, but they said they didn't have anything, and finding a stash of 500 isn't exactly a non-event...

Futurama!!!

Yeah!!!

So I am out on the balcony and see...

I guess it is a dead sand shark... I took a bunch of pictures of it with the Rebel and my zoom lense, and I thought this was the best that showed what I saw. HOLY CRAP! Maybe the "Deuce" (SeaHawk II) got a whole in it from this guy...

Craiglist Post

I joked about putting this online for a long time, so Brian & I finally did. Sadly, we only got 1 response, but it was, "i am not a hot girl, i am a guy with 10 bucks.". So the guy came over and we actually just gave it to him, as we were happy to get rid of it. Was quite funny though :)

When I went absolutely INSANE (even more!)

So just when I thought I couldn't go more insane, this happened.

(Pic from ESPN.com)

Kobe making the game tying shot with 0.7 seconds left in regulation, and hitting the shot at the buzzer to win it in overtime.... I don't even know how to describe it. It was one of the top 3 moments in my memory for Laker history. This is probably the most, because, as Kobe said, the Lakers are not expected to do well in this series. So it makes it that much more INSANE. The other two moments: Big Shot Robert Horry's shot to win it at the buzzer against the Queens, and Fisher's 0.4 shot against the Spurs, right after Duncan hit an impossible shot over Shaq.

When I went absolutely INSANE

I just went insane. Alex would probably agree to this, since he was right next to me when it happened. Poor Alex. See, that's what you get for stopping by. I go INSANE.

That play was NUTS.

Say GoodBye #8?

ESPN.com reports that Kobe Bryant is changing to #24 next year. Wow. I've always liked the number 24 since it was Barry Bonds' original # when he played for the Pirates, but still, it's weird not to think of Kobe as #8. Guess I need another jersey. Talk about a good idea to make some more money. Not bad, Kobe :).

Keith & Vivian's Wedding

It was a blast. Everything was fun, and it turns out giving the speech as the best man isn't too stressful. Just needed some Johnny Walker Green in a flask to ease the pain. Just kidding, but not really. Seriously though, the wedding was awesome. The food was excellent, the DJ rocked, and the whole night was just really fun.

LAKERS !!!

The Lakers look GOOD right now. It's scary. Kobe is the definition of insanity, Odom is playing awesome, and even Kwame (now referred to as "my boy") is playing well. Phoenix better watch out !!!
